Blackpoll

Got back to Del Haven late this evening, but not too late to hear the tsss-tsss-TSSS-TSSS-tsss-tsss my season-first Blackpoll Warbler near Norbury's Landing. Blackpolls are classically thought of as late-season migrants, and they are - sort of. More accurately, they span the spring migration month of May, sometimes with a vanguard bird or two late April, peaking in mid-late May, and continuing as northbound migrants into early June.
